Yellow Heart Committee (YHC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization mobilizing to support the holistic mental health of trauma survivors through policy advocacy, education, and community outreach.  Grant Writer

The Grant Writer at YHC to help find and apply for grants, as well as work collaboratively with our Development and Executive Teams to collect the data needed to fill out grant applications.

  • Research, draft, and submit proposals that help YHC receive grant funding.

  • Researching grants: Find available funding, identify grants that match the objective and mission of YHC or projects under YHC. 

  • Scour detailed lists, databases, and donor websites with available grant applications

  • Writing proposals: Gather and draft require a variety of documents, such as a cover letter, project narrative, and supporting informations

  • Follow up with grants requirements and maintain additional requirements

  • Report directly to CEO and Director of Development

Ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or currently studying in a relevant field

  • Preferably experienced with grant applications within the non-profit space

  • Knowledge of submitting proposals according to industry guidelines

  • Coordinate project planning, updates , status and deliverables

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
